Jerusalem

Jerusalem is a visual quest following a story of a search for belonging.

The project begins with a booklet, that establishes the narrative through words and the style through illustrations, that then are translated into ceramic tablets and figurines. Moving away from the text and concentrating upon the materialistic and dimensional transformations and translations, the project is examining the visual and conceptual variations that such changes bring to the work.

Those variations and their meanings are of the most interest for me. With the shifting from the story, which is visually dimensionless, to the two dimensional illustrations, arises the need for creating and establishing a visual style. The shifting from two to three dimensions makes  face the reverse translation of perspective and shorting, back from paper into solid reality, where I choose to ‘wrongly’ translate them while keeping
